A Pure Life Day Course

 

A Buddhist Day Course with Kelsang Chokyan 
October 17 at 10:00am - 5:00pm

 

Learn to understand the true nature of happiness. We discuss how developing a simple life leads to innner peace and contentment. We will learn about the Pratimoksha Vows, and those who wish can take the vows.

Guru Yoga and Mandala Offering Retreat

 

A Guided Meditation Retreat with Kelsang Chokyan
October 19-24 at Various Times

 

During this retreat, we have the opportunity to strengthen our connection with our Guru and to deepen our faith. By practicing Guru Yoga, we receive abundant blessings. By offering the mandala (a pure universe) to our Spiritual Guide, we accumulate vast amounts of merit or positive energy in our mind.

Mala Making Day Course


Saturday, October 31, 10:00am - 2:00pm

 

You will learn the traditional Buddhist technique for making a mala.

 

A mala is a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations. For Buddhist practitioners, their mala is a very precious and meaningful object for them. Come learn how to make a mala. You can also bring malas to repair.

 

The course is located at Parbawatiya Buddhist Center, 201 6th Ave S, Safety Harbor and costs $10 ($5 students/limited income). Free for Center Sponsors.

Family Meditation Classes

 

A Family Meditation Day Course with Angela Warner 
October 31 at 5:00 - 6:00pm

 

You and your child can learn about Buddhist meditation together. The classes include a short prayer, meditation, teaching, discussion, and a fun art project. This is a great opportunity for you to share in a meaningful activity with your child.

Weekly Classes on Meditation & Buddhism

 

Our evening meditation classes are an hour and a half in length and include teachings, guided meditation, and discussion. Everyone can benefit from this simple advice for developing a peaceful lifestyle. These classes are great for beginners. Feel free to join at any time in the series.
